Pickerelweed[Pontederia cordata] found near a pond at Fletcher Park on 28 August 2013. It’s a member of theWater-Hyacinth (Pontederiaceae) family. Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide, pages 50-51, states it blooms in summer and fall, commonly found “on margins of rivers and ponds.” USDA Plants Listing: Pontederia cordata
