Garden Cornflower or Bachelor’s Button [Centaurea cyanus] found of Rockwood Road in Arden, on 8 June 2013. It’s a member of the Aster (Asteraceae) family. Wildflowers of the Carolinas, pages 24-25, states it’s “treasured for its rare pure blue color and often used in dried flower arrangements.”
